On Saturday, Odisha Recorded 1,065 Fresh Positive Cases Making the Total Count 5,376 Active Cases
The corona virus is still not completely gone, COVID-19 is still a threat to humankind, and states in India are still seeing a rise in cases. Despite Odisha’s daily COVID case count exceeding 1,000 for two days in a row, the number of people getting admitted to the hospital is typically just two in the COVID hospital. 39 patients are currently being admitted across the various COVID hospitals in the states with 539 beds, and the majority of them have serious underlying issues like cancer, diabetes, chronic renal and liver diseases, and other life-threatening illnesses.

Bijay Mohapatra, director of health services said that “seven patients are in normal wards, 32 are in the ICU and HDU. So far, no paediatric patients have been accepted. People who are infected display few symptoms. The clinical presentation resembles that of the third wave almost exactly. People with numerous complications are visiting the hospital”

On July 16, Odisha recorded 1065 fresh positive cases making the total count 5376 active cases. Khurda with a TRP of 17.3 percent registered the highest number of active cases in the state. A total of 19542 samples were tested with a 5.44% positivity rate.

It is advised by the government’s technical adviser on COVID, Dr. Jayant Panda that this time, the upper respiratory tract is being affected. The public needs to consult a doctor if they show any symptoms rather than practicing self-medication and there is no need to panic. He further added that “The infection graph will peak around the middle of August”.
