More than 100 districts of the Pakistan have been affected by flood

Pakistan has declared national emergency and asks for help from international organizations as more than 100 districts of the country has been affected by flood. According to the media reports, more than a 1000 people have already been killed and 30 million people are affected. Buildings and houses are collapsing, people are left homeless with no food, water or any other basic necessity.

Apart from the infrastructural loss, more than 1000 people have lost their lives to this flood. More than 40,000 people have been rescued till now and the rescue operation is still going on.

In a recent video released by the Aljazeera the public of Pakistan can be seen begging for help as they struggle to find a place to live and food to eat, the whole country is filled with water. According to them, the Government has failed in helping them, they have complained about not getting any help from the Government. Their lives have been miserable since the flooding.

Sindh has recorded the most number of deaths and has been declared as ‘calamity hit’ as death toll of Sindh rises to more than 300. It has been raining there since mid-June.

Pakistan is going through its 8th cycle of monsoon; normally the country has only three to four cycles of [monsoon] rain,” said the Minister of Climate Change Sherry Rehman in a press conference in Islamabad.

Due to heavy rainfall, the Southern part of Pakistan is being flooded and the Northern  part has been hit by glacier outbursts and overflow of water in rivers. People have been living in unhealthy environment as they have lost their houses with no or very little food to eat and not enough drinking water.

 Pakistani Government has been running rescue operations with the help of the military forces. However the magnitude of the calamity is so big that it is really difficult for the country to face it on their own. According to other media houses, the Pakistani Government has appealed for International help.

According to reports, the UN has alloted 3 million US dollars to Pakistan to cope up with the flooding. The Senator of Pakistan has also appealed to the overseas Pakistanis to be generous and come forward and make donations to help the affected people.
