Bollywood produces hundreds of films every year, but there are some that are made with the motive of showing people the truth or to break timeless stereotypes. Let’s talk about 5 Bollywood films that held a mirror to the audience and left them spellbound.
1. SHUBH MANGAL ZYADA SAAVDHAN
This Hitesh Kewalya film was a game changer because of its story that revolves around the tagline “LOVE IS LOVE”. This movie hence focuses on two men who are very much in love with each other but the hardships that they have to face to gain acceptance or approval from the society. This film was a slap in the face for the homophobic population of the country who consider falling in love with the same genders a “sin” or a “wrong-doing”. You can watch this film on Amazon Prime Video.
2. CHHAPAAK
This Meghna Gulzar film revolves around the crimes committed against women and most importantly the gruesome and life-threatening acid attacks that happen to countless women every other day.
